Find single-use dice, roll to summon horrors, traps and curses and race for the board's end.

Early accessPC

Search a haunted house for single-use dice and progress through a cursed board game alone or with up to five friends. Special dice, upgrades and changing rules shape the EA loop. The V0.44.12 note adds a Custom mode reachable after defeating the Game Master board and pulling a lever in the collection room. This guide covers the published player range and dice rule, the new Custom mode, the Steam-default networking check in V0.44.11, Windows requirements and the limits of the planned one-year EA period.

Search a house, use each die once, then roll at the cursed board

Find dice in a haunted house

The Steam EA description for Invokyr describes searching a haunted house for dice. Each die found during this search is the player's tool for what comes after.

Each die is single-use

The same page is explicit that every die is used only once. The single-use rule is part of the published core loop: each die can be used once. The source does not specify a cross-board reset or per-player exception.

Roll to summon and push toward the end

With dice in hand the player rolls at a cursed board game. The published effects of rolling are to summon horrors, traps and curses, and the goal is to keep moving toward the board's end. Specific board layouts, exact summon tables and dice outcomes are not part of the panel consulted on 14 October 2026.

EA player range and play modes

1–6 players in the current EA panel

The Steam EA feature panel for Invokyr lists 1–6 players as the current published range. The same panel lists single-player and online co-op.

Solo play is described

Single-player is presented as a supported mode on the EA panel, alongside online co-op. The page does not name a host/join flow, lobby UI or matchmaking geography, and this article does not invent any of those.

Cross-platform and cross-region details not in the panel

The EA feature list does not mention cross-platform play, dedicated servers or specific save boundaries between solo and co-op sessions. Those details are left out of this article.

Special dice, progression layers and the Early Access window

Special dice and their risks

The EA description names special dice that can heal, hide or hinder. The same page warns that these special dice carry their own risks; the panel does not list exact die counts, risk percentages or risk-condition wording, and this article does not invent any of them.

Shop, upgrades and cross-board progression

The EA feature list also names a shop, upgrades and progression between different boards. These are described as EA progression layers at the system level only; specific shop inventories, upgrade trees and exact unlock chains are not part of the read.

One-year EA is a plan, not a fixed release

The developer states a planned one-year Early Access window. That window is described on the Steam page as a plan, not as a fixed 1.0 release date. A planned development period does not establish a fixed 1.0 release date.

Minimum Windows configuration and source range

Publisher-listed minimum tier

The Steam Windows requirements panel, read on 14 October 2026, lists the following published minimum configuration for Invokyr:

ItemPublished minimum
OSWindows 10 (64-bit)
ProcessorIntel Core i5-7500 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Memory16 GB RAM
GraphicsNVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 580
DirectXVersion 11
NetworkBroadband Internet connection
Storage5 GB available space

The separately listed recommended tier is Windows 10 64-bit, Intel Core i5-11500 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT, DirectX 11, broadband internet and 5 GB storage. These are developer-published specifications, not an independent benchmark.

Source range

Only the Steam US-English EA page, its EA feature panel and its Windows requirements panel were consulted on 14 October 2026. A patch log post-EA and the exact monster/event totals were not part of this read and are not invented in this article.

V0.44.12 Custom Mode and V0.44.11 multiplayer networking check

Custom Mode requires the Game Master board and a collection-room lever

The V0.44.12 note, consulted on 18 October 2026 on the Steam Community allnews feed, describes a new Custom Mode with a fixed prerequisite chain:

  1. Defeat the Game Master board first.
  2. In the collection room, pull the lever that enables Custom.
  3. From what has already been unlocked, customise the board, the house rules and the monster figurines.

Custom Mode is a sandbox for the rewards-and-penalties loop

The same note states that Custom Mode carries no death penalty and no win reward. Winning or losing the customised board both return the player safely to the last round. The page does not claim that dice become reusable inside Custom, and does not establish that the standard 1–6 / solo loop keeps saves or client progress unchanged after Custom runs.

Steam networking is the default; EOS is conditional

The V0.44.11 note on the same allnews feed states that Steam networking is the default for online play and that an Epic Online Services (EOS) option is only recommended when the Steam connection has problems. This article does not name a settings menu path, does not establish account-registration or linking requirements, and does not guarantee the EOS option resolves the connection issue.

Timestamps shown on the feed are relative

The V0.44.12 entry shows 1:02am, while V0.44.11 is labelled Oct 15; that relative timestamp does not establish a calendar publish date for the V0.44.12 note. The build label V0.44.12 is taken from the entry heading on the same feed.

Missing public lobbies or loading into a board: V0.44.13

The 18 October V0.44.13 note adds an outdated-version warning on the join screen and addresses some public lobbies not appearing, plus a possible multiplayer loading softlock when entering a board or the shop. Before treating a missing lobby as a server-type problem, check any version warning and compare the host and joining players' installed builds. The same patch addresses the plant monster's tentacle crash and disables batched GPU skinning for stability. These are the developer's named fixes, not a guarantee that every crash or loading problem is repaired. Keep the earlier Steam-default/EOS-fallback advice separate; this note does not introduce a new required account or networking service.

Answers before the deep dive

Invokyr player count, solo vs co-op, single-use dice and the Custom mode added in V0.44.12
