The situation

A player who declined the Epic sign-in option found themselves stuck in a "failed to load user data please try again" loop, with the game unplayable, and asked why the game offers a second sign-in route that does not work. Team17 support replied with a short, concrete reset procedure.

The steps, in the order given

1. Close the game and Steam completely. Not just the game window — Steam as well.
2. Open %localappdata%. That is the local AppData folder for your Windows user.
3. Open the HLL Vietnam folder inside it.
4. Delete or rename the "Saved" folder, or at minimum the config/save files inside it.
5. Launch the game again from Steam and check whether the error is gone.

What this costs you

This is a local-data reset, not a settings toggle. The step that removes or renames the Saved folder is also the step that removes the game's local configuration and save data, so unsaved progress and your local settings can go with it. The publisher's instruction is "delete or rename" precisely so you can keep the old folder aside and put it back if the reset does not help. Nothing here was tested by this site.

What it does not tell you
