Which mode serves your goal?
Career follows a conservation adventure. Franchise links zoos and Wildlife Reserves and includes player animal trading. Sandbox focuses on unrestricted creativity. Trading with other players is not a promise of simultaneous shared-zoo construction.
How do the new habitat and reserve types differ?
Aquariums house fully aquatic species in freshwater or saltwater environments. Aviaries use barriers, poles and mesh covers for flying birds. Wildlife Reserves introduce conservation projects and release requirements. Species have different needs; this is not a filter-connection tutorial.
Why are animals locked behind accreditation?
Read the accreditation and animal-unlock answer before grinding another mode. It follows Frontier's clarification rather than a universal three-star rule.
Why does the item browser show only some objects?
Switch off Essentials to show all items in that browser tab. This changes the filter, not research or accreditation locks. An absent item and a locked animal are different checks.
Is Planet Zoo 2 crashing or saving badly?
Frontier published a known-issue list on 20 October 2026 titled "Under Investigation". It names live problems such as a crash linked to multi-selecting grid pieces and a crash linked to releasing animals into franchise wildlife reserves, and it says the team are still testing fixes for a future update. The newest numbered patch is 1.0.5 from 16 October 2026. The post is explicitly work in progress, not a full changelog, and it does not promise that every listed fix has shipped.
What PC do you need, and what does Planet Zoo 2 cost?
The publisher-listed Windows minimum asks for Windows 10 or 11, an Intel i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB of RAM, an RTX 2060, RX 5600XT or Arc A750, DirectX 12 and 40 GB of storage; the recommended tier asks for Windows 11, an i7-10700K or Ryzen 7 5800X, 16 GB of RAM, an RTX 3070, RX 6700XT or Arc A770 and 40 GB with SSD required. The Mac and Linux requirement tables are empty. The listed US price is $49.99 with no active discount at the time of the read. Steam lists 18 interface languages, with English, French, Italian, German, Spanish-Spain, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese marked as full audio.
