ELDEN RING: find the tutorial and unlock leveling

Opening checkpoints

1. In Stranded Graveyard, find the seated ghost beside the hole on your right. The drop leads to the Cave of Knowledge tutorial; take its lessons before leaving for the open world.
2. Discover and rest at Sites of Grace. When Melina offers her accord, accepting it unlocks leveling and gives the Spectral Steed Whistle. These are progression checkpoints, not a timed route or a fixed Grace-count requirement.

Review a completed tutorial in Info

1. Open your inventory.
2. Go to Info, then select a tutorial message already recorded there.
3. Use the examine prompt shown by your game to reopen the selected text. The publisher's screenshot shows an About Guidance of Grace note as an example.

This is a way to reread completed lessons, not a promise that every missing lesson has already been recorded. No universal PC shortcut or complete tutorial-note count is established by the 2022 guide.

If you missed a step

If the leveling option is not yet available, check the progression milestone you are looking for: Melina's accord is what grants it in the publisher's guide. Simply visiting a Grace and accepting that offer are not the same step.

The source says the encounter follows resting at a few Sites of Grace, but does not give an exact required number or one guaranteed named meeting point. Do not use the accompanying scene as a map coordinate or an instruction to reproduce its precise location.

Level at a Site of Grace

After the unlock, rest at a Site of Grace and use the leveling option. Inspect the attribute preview and runes needed before confirming the choice you intend to make. This spends runes on character attributes; it is not the weapon-upgrade screen.

The pictured Level Up panel is an example from the publisher's March 2022 guide. Its character level, rune balance and selected attribute are sample values, not a recommended build, current price or requirement for your character.

Strengthen a weapon separately

For weapon strengthening, the guide identifies the smithing table at the Church of Elleh and Smithing Master Hewg at Roundtable Hold. Select the weapon you intend to strengthen and check its required items and rune cost before confirming an upgrade.

The Smithing Table image illustrates that separate screen. The guide points to mines and caves, including those in Limgrave, as places to find smithing stones; it does not provide a complete material route, every upgrade cost or a best weapon recommendation. Compare the requirements displayed for your own weapon rather than copying the screenshot's example numbers.
