Is CICADAMATA" multiplayer? Modes and leaderboards
Separate CICADAMATA's single-player mode from Steam leaderboards and online record comparison. Online features do not automatically mean co-op or versus play.
Answer: CICADAMATA" is listed as single-player with Steam leaderboards. The official description supports online record comparison, not a claim that it has co-op or multiplayer matches.
Single-player versus shared records
Steam's mode category is Single-player. It also lists Steam Leaderboards, Stats, Cloud, Achievements and Timeline. A leaderboard lets records be compared without establishing that multiple people play the same session together.
What the record system measures
The store description presents ZONE TIME as a measure of traversal efficiency, alongside points and clearance for record comparison. It does not provide a verified scoring formula, rank thresholds or an optimized route.
Connection boundary
The minimum requirements note recommends an internet connection for CCID features. This is not the same as a statement that every single-player level always requires a live connection. We have not tested offline operation or network failure behavior.
What not to assume
Do not read leaderboards as confirmation of co-op, split-screen, versus matches or console crossplay. This page makes no claim about unannounced modes, future patches or performance records.
Next step
Use the movement and requirements page for the published level structure and PC specifications. For a precise record-chasing strategy, current-version playtest evidence is still required.
