Answer: Draw multi-step orders on the map and let officers and companies execute them. Pause or fast-forward the simulation as needed. Capture supply depots, cut enemy supply lines and pull units back when they run low on supplies; mission weeks are simulated time.

Drawn map orders and autonomous officers

The store copy describes Battleplan as a commander-view game. The player draws multi-phase and multi-unit orders directly on the map; officers and companies execute those orders autonomously. Reorganisation is described as a command-layer action rather than a per-soldier selection. The page does not list the exact officer ranks, formation icons or reorg windows that go with this view, and this site does not add them.

This is a description of the published command system. It is not a tested walkthrough of any first scenario, and no specific mission has been completed by this site on 14 October 2026.

Pause, real-time, fast-forward and mission-time scale

The same Steam panel lists three published time modes: pause, real-time and fast-forward. The page also describes mission time as ranging from one week to one month, and is explicit that the mission-time range is in-game simulation time, not real play time. Specific fast-forward multipliers, scripted pause conditions or step-by-step command ticks are not part of the read.

Supply is terrain-bound

The Steam description frames supply as something the terrain itself constrains, not as an abstract counter. The two supply actions named are seizing supply depots and cutting enemy supply lines. The same panel also names pulling units back when they run low on supplies as a commander-layer retreat option. None of these is paired with a tested threshold, depot count or retreat timer on the read page, and those details are not invented here.

Source-confirmed limits

The original 14 October overview above used only the Steam US-English store description and Windows requirements. Its scope did not include patch notes or a first-scenario walkthrough. The separate v1.0.8 checkpoint below adds a later, named patch source; it is not an independently tested campaign route.

Find Timeline Orders in v1.0.8

In the October 16 v1.0.8 notes, Timeline Orders appears on the new-campaign setup screen and remains available through Options. This makes the expert feature easier to find before a campaign; it is not an instruction to draw every order on a live timeline by default. The army constructor also gains box selection and dragging, and the deployment phase again exposes all orders.

Keep two limits in mind when checking a result: those notes still list end-of-mission statistics being cleared after loading a save, and lower frame rates on large maps such as Channel Ports. Missing statistics after a load are not, by themselves, evidence that the mission's objectives were undone.
